DAMKA with SolidarMed Support Leads Sickle Cell Awareness and Free Screening Drive at KMTC Cultural Day

Team DAMKA led a Sickle Cell Awareness and Free Screening initiative during the Cultural and Alumni Day at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Shianda Campus, bringing together students from Shianda and KMTC Navakholo Campus to promote early screening and awareness of sickle cell disease.

The event also featured a blood donation drive organized by DAMKA in collaboration with the Kakamega County Blood Bank Team to help improve access to blood for patients who depend on transfusions. The initiative further provided future healthcare professionals with practical insights into sickle cell disease and the importance of supporting affected individuals and families.
